As you are well aware, this was my first multi-unit development and what came with that was a vast lack of knowledge and experience regarding the building process. You and your staff were always patient with me, always happy to explain things, often more than once, which I really appreciated. At no time was I made to feel stupid, which I felt anyway at times without someone else helping me in this area.

With a challenging sloping block in Heathmont, we were looking for a builder that was local to the area. As we had our own design and plans, we wanted a builder that would be able to work with us and allow us to have some input on the construction. We found Chris to be very helpful and approachable with this.

With a construction start in a very wet July 2011, the biggest challenges were the site access, rainwater runoff and drainage. Fortunately the Brownhill team were very conscious of this and were able to get the footings and brickwork out of the ground despite the weather.

We found the following months of construction went smoothly and any site issues were dealt with efficiently. We found the site meetings with the foreman, project manager and Chris were great and gave us a great insight to the progress of construction. We were also able to complete the construction of the decking areas ourselves prior to moving in, which gave us great satisfaction that we were able to add our own personal touch to our new home.

Post construction, Chris and his team went to great lengths to ensure that everything was in working order and to our satisfaction.

Several months later, we have to say that we are very proud of and happy with our new home and would happily recommend Chris and his team at Brownhill Homes to any future home builders.

In early 2010, we engaged Brownhill Homes to build our three bedroom unit. Chris and his team competed for the contract against a number of other builders who all came highly recommended.

From the outset Chris’ quote were the most realistic and demonstrated the greatest value for money. During the quotation process and immediately afterwards, Chris took us through step by step the stages of the build and the expected timelines. This was extremely important to us as we were living on site as the unit was a result of a subdivision.

Chris took the time to explain the technical terms in easy to understand language. Questions that we did have were answered promptly.

Throughout the build, all processes ran to schedule. If a workman was to start on a due date, he started on that date. There were no cost blow outs and all costs were upfront and clearly outlined in the building contract.

PERSONAL TESTIMONIAL

EXTENSIVE RENOVATION

Based on the above, we approached Chris about an extension/renovation to our 17 year old home which we had outgrown.

This project was quite significant and included the removal of internal walls and an existing deck, expanding our family room area (where the deck used to be), creating a new deck, adding on a second storey and finally a new kitchen.

The project took approximately 10 months and with the exception of one week whilst timber floors were sanded and polished we continued to live in our home throughout!

As most will know renovations and extensions can be challenging and unpredictable at the best of times however we felt involved throughout and being on site meant questions could be dealt with almost immediately and delays were minimized as a result.

A number of changes had to be made during the process with materials becoming unavailable and yet with open discussion and communication the best resolutions were reached and changes were made without issue.

Post renovation we are very happy with the result and are enjoying our “new” home.  We are more than happy to provide this testimonial and to recommend Chris and his team at Brownhill Homes.
