Chris Brownhill


Chris Brownhill founded Brownhill Homes over 25 years ago and brings his passion to be an outstanding residential builder to the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

Building hundreds of homes over the years, Chris took a hands-on approach to his passion from a young age.

Starting in the industry with a carpentry background, Chris has been able to blend his technical and practical building background to produce outstanding outcomes. His eye for detail is unrivaled. Chris also oversees our property development business and has an excellent understanding of what’s required from acquisition to handover of all aspects of this process.

Outside of working hours, Chris enjoys playing a round of golf with his friends and spending quality time with his family down at Rosebud. On the weekends you’ll find Chris down at the MCG cheering on his mighty Tigers.

Nick Warren

General Manager

Nick is a chartered accountant by trade and has been in the residential construction industry since early 2015. Nick’s role as General Manager oversees many aspects of the business.

Nick’s role as General Manager oversees the pre-construction phase of the build, from sales & marketing, to drafting, to contract administration, estimating, purchasing & procurement. Nick’s qualifications, as well as operational & business experience, delivers high-quality business strategies and plans. He ensures alignment with the long-term objectives, and core values, leading Brownhill Homes to the forefront of the residential construction industry.

Lindsay English

Operations Manager

Lindsay brings with him 25 years as a self-employed carpenter and an excellent reputation as a good tradesman. He has been involved with management of staff, subcontractors and day to day running.

Since being at Brownhill Homes, Lindsay quickly progressed into a supervisory position and from there he was put into a management role. During this time, Lindsay has been involved with management of staff, subcontractors and the day to day running of Brownhill Homes.

Tayla Van Ommen

Sales & Marketing Manager

Tayla brings an extensive array of knowledge to the team. Having studied & obtaining her Agents License, Tayla’s passion for property started at the young age of 17 when she managed her first leasing portfolio.

From there, she moved into volume building which gave her a great insight into construction and client management. Tayla followed on to join Brownhill Homes as the client liaison & contracts manager.

Tayla is now focusing on growing Brownhill Homes through their sales and marketing channels. Utilising all facets of her vast experience and education, Tayla loves working with the team and clients to help make the design and build journey as enjoyable as possible.

Inspired by working with a number of homeowners and developers over the years, Tayla would love to start developing her own sites, and working from the design phase to seeing the project through to completion. 


Financial Controller

Claudio brings a high level of experience to Brownhill Homes, having worked in areas of banking & finance, land development, media and facility management. Claudio oversees the finance department.

His responsibilities range from overseeing the finance department to assisting our operations manager & managing director. Claudio brings forward his skills in mentoring, problem solving, planning and analyzing, making him an integral part of the Brownhill operations.

Outside of working hours, Claudio has a love for new languages, travelling and football.



Kate has completed her certificate in bookkeeping and represents half of our Brownhill Homes accounting team. Kate has been with us since 2016 and her role involves processing invoices and account control.

She is a highly regarded, experienced professional who provides a second to none service to our suppliers and trades, ensuring everyone is paid in a timely manner.

Kate has started her own natural soy candle business, many of which you will find in Brownhill Homes handover package. She enjoys making and selling these candles on weekends and school holidays. Senior Estimator

Having joined Brownhill Homes in 2015, John has excelled into his position as the Senior Estimator. His role sees him training and growing our estimating department, and liaising with trades on-site.

John enjoys liaising with all stakeholders across our projects to ensure a smooth transition from office to site to handover. John brings extensive construction knowledge with him, ranging in both residential and commercial projects. His past role saw him managing all facets of contracts administration and tending for large commercial projects such as the Royal Exhibition Building.

Outside of his work at Brownhill Homes, John is an avid Collingwood supporter, however during quiet times of the year you might find him out on the golf course or throwing the rod in.



With over 5 years of experience as an estimator, Elle joined the Brownhill Homes team in 2016 and brings with her a specialised skill set in estimating. She has amazing time management and attention to detail skills.

She has been an invaluable team member when it comes to dealing with international clients, bridging the communication barriers between the client and building team.

In her spare time, Elle can be found having a hit or two down at her local badminton centre with her partner. Elle has also recently become an Australian citizen and our team at Brownhill Homes couldn’t be prouder!


Junior Estimator

Lei joined our Brownhill team after graduating from the University of Melbourne. She brings with her an array of experience working with multi-unit development sites and custom home building in Melbourne’s suburbs.

Lei has spent 7 years completing her Bachelor and Master degree’s in construction management, and has since been working as an estimator.

Lei’s family have a strong foothold in the Chinese construction industry which saw her interest grow from a young age, cementing her decision to take part in the industry from the age of 18. Lei believes her strengths lie in communicating with internal and external stakeholders, precise take-off’s and preparing purchase orders.

Lei’s interests see her following the stock market closely and spending her weekends exploring the many National Parks that Victoria has to offer.



With a background in carpentry and over 26 years at Brownhill Homes, David is a well-rounded and experienced supervisor with a passion for managing unique jobs.

David’s personal philosophy is to always take pride in his work, tailoring every project to the individuals needs to ensure a quality and smooth build with Brownhill Homes.


Site Supervisor

Sam has over 15 years of experience in the building industry, covering a wide variety of projects.Sam believes the key fundamental areas in supervising are patience and problem solving.

Sam’s role as a site supervisor is to be responsible for running his job sites, coordinating site crews, coordinating subcontractors, tracking the project timeline, and ensuing each home and development is completed to a high quality and in a timely manner. Sam believes the key fundamental areas in supervising are patience and problem solving.

In his spare time, Sam likes to watch the footy, play a round of golf with his mates and spend the weekend with his family.



Josh comes to us with over 18 years of experience in the building industry. From the young age of 15, Josh made the decision to begin his carpentry apprenticeship which soon grew into his own company.

Pursuing this passion through to the age of 29, the long hours and physical pressure on his body saw Josh make the decision to switch roles and take on supervising.

Josh believes in a high level of detail and takes pride in presenting the best quality home he can. We are proud to have Josh’s invaluable insight oversee large projects, including one of his last jobs ranging in cost around an excess of $29 million.

On the weekends Josh loves to spend his extra spare time with his wife and two gorgeous daughters. He is a keen cricketer, which saw him hit a double 100 in his career.
